Welcome to Charles City County Charles City County is located in the Richmond, VA Metropolitan Statistical Area. We are east of Richmond and west of Jamestown, with a southern border on the James River and an eastern border on the Chickahominy River. There were two Charles City born Presidents – William Henry Harrison and John Tyler. There is plenty of history in Charles City County where people enjoy the country living and centrally located in the heart of the historic south. We are a small County with a lot to offer.
